HoosOnline management moves to University
This month the University began day-to-day operation of HoosOnline, the U.Va. online community for alumni. The collaborative venture between the University and the Alumni Association has been been managed by the Alumni Association and housed at Alumni Hall since its launch six years ago.
The HoosOnline project team began work at UDO on January 10. Becky Birnbaum, the HoosOnline project manager, is working in Information Systems. Tammy Taylor, the HoosOnline customer service specialist, is working in Prospect Development with the Records Management team.
Becky Birnbaum had worked at the Alumni Association as a systems analyst for five years. She has extensive experience programming, writing reports, and problem-solving on the Advance system, in addition to supporting PCs, networking, and servers. This past year Becky started managing the HoosOnline project.
Tammy Taylor has provided customer service for HoosOnline for over five years. She is an experienced records management specialist on Advance. In addition to her other customer service duties, Tammy is responsible for entering the daily updates from HoosOnline into Advance.
Becky will take a lead role in selecting the vendor to provide the core technology for the second generation of HoosOnline -- a greatly expanded array of products and services for alumni that is now being defined as part of the overarching Interactive Media Initiative.
