New HoosOnline debuted today
A new look, more customization and increased security are among the most noticeable changes in the new HoosOnline that debuted today at www.HoosOnline.Virginia.edu. The new look, however, has not changed the HoosOnline features that U.Va. alumni rely on to stay in touch with each other. The Directory still offers up-to-date contact information, the Career Assistance section remains the gateway to 18,000 alumni willing to give career advice through UCAN, and lifetime Email Forwarding still lets alumni get email messages no matter how many times they change jobs.
Less obvious, but equally important is a substantial upgrade of the underlying systems to enhance security, reliability and ease of use. The new systems also pave the way for new tools and services scheduled to roll out during 2005.
As the HoosOnline upgrade continues, the site design and navigation will evolve to add new services. Look for event registration, class notes and photos, new ways to network professionally and socially, and the ability to tailor HoosOnline to your specific interests.
So welcome to a work in progress. And please, let the project team know what you think of the new HoosOnline by sending an email message to hoosonline@virginia.edu.
