Draft Broadcast Email Policy available for review
A draft of the proposed Broadcast Email Policy is now online for stakeholder review. The policy would govern everyone (U.Va. and foundation employees) who sends broadcast email messages or solicitations to alumni, donors and friends of the University (whether or not they use the centrally provided broadcast email tool from Kintera).
The proposed Broadcast Email Policy includes general language and will soon begin moving through the official U.Va. policy approval process.
The draft version of the related Procedures for Broadcast Email outlines specific rules to comply with spam regulations and the University's desire to coordinate its email efforts.
There is also a Broadcast Email Best Practices document that offers suggestions for increasing the open and click-through rates for broadcast email campaigns.
Comments about any of these documents should be shared with Paul Shearman, assistant director of broadcast email communications, at pjs8t@virginia.edu or 3-2363. Paul will share them with the policy committee.
